Kimberly & Jonathon part 1: Franklin Wedding Photographer

When I walked into their apartment, the room instantly had the aroma of hairspray and excitement. All the girls were anxiously putting on their makeup, while the bride-to-be was relaxing in a recliner, sipping her wedding day coffee until it was her turn to get dolled up. Photographing the getting-ready portion of a wedding is one of my favorite parts of the day. I always think weddings go by in the blink of an eye, so I like to get there as early as possible and document as much as possible. Watching the bride-to-be and her closest girl friends get ready for what is sure to be the bride's best day of her life, is so much fun. There are so many emotions and details to capture; even details like the bride's eyelashes and pristine nails are beautiful. For this wedding, the guys were all off getting ready elsewhere, so it was just me, my second shooter, and the girlies for the first couple hours. Once everyone was finished getting ready, we headed out to a beautiful farm house to take photos of Kimberly putting on her dress, the first look, and of course the bridal party. The weather could not have been more perfect; I don't remember seeing a single cloud in the sky. We took full advantage of the sunshine and gorgeous tree-lined property to capture some priceless moments. Once the actual wedding ceremony began, it was more than evident how Christ centered this marriage was. It was incredibly moving, and the worship portion of the ceremony was amazing. I'm so thankful I got to experience that. Thank you Kimberly & Jonathon for allowing me to capture your special day!
Here's a look at a few of my favorites from the first half of the day. Warning: major blog post ahead. There were too many to choose from that I absolutely loved, it was impossible to narrow it down! I wish I could post them ALL! I'll be blogging the second half- the ceremony and reception, in a separate post. Be on the look-out!
