Genesis & Matt: Chicago Wedding Photographer

Several weeks ago I was given the spur of the moment opportunity to head back up to Chicago to help Sarah Barlow shoot another wedding, along with another previous intern. Sarah has been SUCH a huge player in helping me gain the confidence and knowledge needed to start my business and really dive in! Not enough words for how awesome that chick is!
Well, the wedding turned out to be just north of Chicago, in what turned out to be literally the furthest north I've ever been. It was an absolutely beautiful day. The bride and the groom decided not to see each other, so you could feel the excitement just from hanging out with the bride beforehand. I could tell that she was just beside herself with happiness for the day to come. Unfortunately we weren't able to get any "getting ready" shots, so we tried to snatch up some quick details. The ceremony itself was probably the most emotional ceremony I've ever been to. I could even feel myself tearing up at times. The love that these two have for each other is just amazing, and the way it showed during the ceremony made for many-a-sniffles. After the ceremony, we headed out to a local park where the sun was gorgeous and the willow-trees were to die for. Then it was off to the reception, where a full dance party ensued. Her dress could not have been more perfect for dancing. Every time she spun it around, it looked like a fairytale. Such a great wedding. So happy to have been  a behind-the-scenes hand on their special day.

Mene & Paul: Nashville Engagement Photographer

A month or two ago I received a kind email from a sweet girl inquiring about engagement photos. I had no idea who she was, let alone how she found my business. I had a good feeling about it though, and could tell through our emails that she was genuinely excited about me taking their engagement pics and getting to know she and her fiance better. After deciding on a date and time for said engagement session, I was a little nervous about doing a session with a couple I had never met, but was super excited to share in their love story and become friends. This is what I love about photography- that it can bring you to wonderful people whom you may not have ever have gotten the chance to meet elsewhere. Mene and Paul are such a precious couple, and instantly I could tell how head over heels they were for each other. Right off the bat, I couldn't wait to capture some of that love through my lens. Even better, I knew she was my kind of girl when she requested her shoes be visible in at least a few of the shots.
Unfortunately, we just so happened to pick the hottest and most humid afternoon of the summer, or what felt like it :) I was determined to prevail though, and luckily Mene and Paul were champs the whole session. Hey, a little sweat never hurt anyone right?
Here are a few of my favorites. You can check out their full slideshow HERE. Or, head on over to my fan page to post some comments, just click HERE. Be sure and check out their wedding website, it's quite impressive :)
